October is LGBTQIA+ History Month!

Carla Maia, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Justice (DEIJ) Coordinator
All through October we are celebrating the many LGBTQIA+ heroes who have positively impacted our world! Read more about these notable figures, and find out about this month's Diverse Reads recommendations, available in English and French, at our campus libraries.
At EB this month we are celebrating the many LGBTQIA+ heroes who have shaped the course of history. We honor the legacy of LGBTQIA+ history makers such as Marsha P. Johnson, Sylvia Rivera, Alan Turing, Harvey Milk, Christine Jorgensen, Bayard Rustin, Barbara Gittings, Billie Jean King, Gilbert Baker, and so many others.

Twas the Night Before Pride / Le premier défilé de la fierté by Joanna McClintick is a colorful and joyful book celebrating queer families.  It also helps reflect on the importance of Pride and an homage to those in the LGBTQIA+ community who fought against injustice and inequality.

You can check out a copy of this book, available in both English and French, in the Lower School Library.
