Le Camp d'Été

Le Camp d'Été is an extension program of Ecole Bilingue de Berkeley, offering a dynamic and engaging summer camp experience. For students entering Grade 1 to Grade 6. No prior French experience is required; children of all language levels are supported through gestures, visuals, routines, and peer interaction.

Le Camp d'Été 2026

Le Camp d'Été invites children to discover French through play, culture, and community. In a lively, joyful environment, campers explore French-speaking cultures around the world through music, food, games, movement, and creative projects. All French levels are supported as children naturally build confidence and communication skills through real-life experiences. We emphasize emotional well-being, belonging, and cooperation so every camper feels safe, valued, and included. As an EcoSchool and EFE3D-labeled institution, we weave sustainability and global citizenship into daily camp life, nurturing caring, curious, and responsible global citizens.

Weekly Themes

Week 1:
Bienvenue dans le Monde Francophone
Messages from Around the World
The summer begins with an exciting journey into the global Francophone world. Campers receive messages, objects, and clues from French-speaking places across continents and work together to discover what they reveal about daily life, traditions, and communities. Through games, music, movement, and shared rituals, children build friendships, confidence, and curiosity while discovering that French connects people around the world.
Week 2

Créateurs du Monde Francophone
Artists Tell Stories Without Words
This week celebrates creativity as a universal language. Campers explore how artists from the Francophone world express ideas and emotions through color, sound, movement, and imagination. Through hands-on art, performance, and collaborative projects, children experiment, create, and discover new ways to communicate — in French and beyond.
Week 3
À Table dans le Monde Francophone
A Shared Meal That Brings Us Together
Food is at the heart of community, and this week invites campers to explore how meals bring people together across French-speaking cultures. Through age-appropriate cooking activities, food-inspired games, and shared experiences, children discover how preparing and sharing food creates connection, cooperation, and care for others.
Week 4
Voyages & Aventures Francophones
Lost… and Found!
Campers become adventurous travelers navigating new places, following clues, and solving problems together. Through imaginative play, movement challenges, and team activities, children explore what it means to travel, adapt, and rely on one another when plans change. This week builds confidence, teamwork, and resilience through playful exploration.
Week 5
Nature & Animaux du Monde Francophone
Sharing the Planet
This week connects campers to the natural world through Francophone cultures that celebrate animals, landscapes, and the environment. Through outdoor play, creative projects, and cooperative challenges, children explore how people and animals share the planet — and how caring for nature and living beings is part of being a global citizen.
Week 6
Musique & Spectacles Francophones
Music That Brings Us Together
From rhythm and movement to sound and performance, this high-energy week invites campers to experience how music brings people together. Children sing, dance, play games, and collaborate on playful performances while building confidence, self-expression, and joy through shared creative moments.
Week 7
Inventeurs & Bâtisseurs Francophones
Solving Problems Together
Campers become builders and innovators, imagining how people design, create, and solve problems to help their communities thrive. Through hands-on challenges, construction play, and teamwork, children collaborate, experiment, and discover the value of creativity, persistence, and cooperation.
Week 8
(Preschool only)
Contes & Jeux du Monde Francophone
Stories Help Us Understand the World
Designed especially for our youngest campers, this week focuses on stories, imagination, and play. Through songs, movement, sensory activities, and simple creative projects, preschoolers experience French in a warm, playful, and nurturing environment that supports language exposure, emotional safety, and joyful discovery.
