Students gained a deeper understanding of the importance of volunteerism in the face of food insecurity, as MS English teacher, Ms. Campbell, led a service learning trip to the Alameda Food Bank
Service Learning At the Alameda Food Bank By Fabien Lombard, Middle School Head
In March, seventh-grade students engaged in a meaningful service-learning field trip to the Alameda Food Bank, where they actively participated in preparing food for distribution to families in need.
Their tasks included sorting and packaging fresh produce, ensuring that nutritious food reached over 1,200 families each week.
This hands-on experience not only provided essential support to the community but also offered students a deeper understanding of the importance of volunteerism and addressing food insecurity.
