Maternelle Carnaval Celebrates the Forest & Biodiversity

Maternelle students brought the theme of Biodiversity and the Forest to life during a magical Earth Day inspired Carnaval parade around the Lower School yard.

Maternelle Carnaval Celebrates the Forest & Biodiversity

In celebration of EB's Earth Week, Maternelle students transformed the Outdoor Stage into an enchanted forest for their EB Carnaval parade, celebrating the theme of Biodiversity and the Forest.  Preschool and Kindergarten students proudly marched in the sunshine, wearing masks and costumes they had created in class, from trees and woodland animals to fluttering butterflies.

Cheered on by G1-G5 students and staff lining the parade route, the children completed several energetic laps while bilingual, forest-themed songs played in the background.  French Curriculum Coordinator, Elodie Resurreccion and Primary School Head, Magali Noth animated the event, with teachers and associates guiding students along the chalk-marked path and encouraging them to sing, dance, and take in the festive atmosphere.

To close the celebration, the Maternelle students came together for a lively group dance, followed by a quiet yoga moment, inviting everyone to “take root” like trees and reflect on caring for our planet.  Their creativity, energy, and joy made this year’s Carnaval a beautiful tribute to spring, nature, and our bilingual community spirit! Bravo!
