Thank you for your interest in EB. Applications for the 2019-2020 academic year are accepted starting October 1, 2018. Follow the two steps below to complete the application process.
Our Preschool and Kindergarten classes are currently at capacity for the current 2018-2019 school year. Families interested in applying should get in touch with our Admissions office to be waitlisted.
1. Submit online application and apply for financial aid (if applicable)
This brief application helps us to understand why you’re interested in a bilingual French education. The $150 application fee helps to defray costs of admissions events.
If you apply for financial aid when you apply to EB, we can provide you with your financial aid award along with your acceptance decision. Applying for aid in no way affects the admissions decision.
2. Come for an interview with your child
Once you submit an application, the admissions office will contact you to schedule an informal interview with your child. It’s a friendly and playful time for the Director of Admission to get to know your child, and families are present throughout.
For Kindergarten only
3. Submit a recommendation and attend a group observation
We ask that your child’s preschool teacher complete the recommendation form used by all independent schools in the East Bay. It should go directly to our Director of Admissions.
We will invite your child to an informal play session for observation in a small group setting by our teachers. This helps us to understand your child’s social needs and school readiness. The event is typically on a Saturday morning in February.
Applicants are notified of their acceptance in early March. Families interested in applying for the 2018-2019 school year should contact the admissions office (link sends e-mail) to confirm availability.
