EB has two attractive enclosed urban campuses located in southwest Berkeley.
The Lower School campus, located at the corner of Heinz Avenue and Ninth Street, is the main campus. It houses all of the classes from preschool through fifth grade, as well as a library (open to parents!), science lab, multi-purpose room, art and music rooms, as well as a small gym with gymnastics and tumbling equipment. The main courtyard is home to a large play structure, and lots of room to run and play. The preschool classes have their own yard and play structure. Our newly renovated school garden is in the small courtyard.
In summer 2014, we made major improvements to our Lower School campus: the size of the main playground nearly doubled, and the blacktop was transformed into an outdoor learning environment. Learn more.
The Middle School campus is located two blocks away at 901 Grayson Street. It houses classrooms, a library, a sports yard, and a small garden.
