We are pleased to announce that Le Camp D’Été will be reopening this summer 2021! This year's camp will be very different from other years due to COVID-19 limitations but we will still have a great summer spending time together and learning in a fun environment while maintaining our rigorous safety protocols to keep our community safe!
We're also pleased to announce that we'll be offering a virtual camp option through Acadomia again this summer for those parents who prefer to send their students to a virtual camp. More details below!
We are still finalizing the details regarding the content of the camp. However we want to share with you the broader points so you can plan accordingly.
- Le Camp D’Été is only open to current and incoming EB families this year. This is for the safety of our community.
Camps will be available for either 3 week or 6 week options. We cannot offer a weekly option this summer, due to COVID-19 safety protocols.
Mini Camp is open to all current preschoolers as well as potty trained incoming preschoolers over age 3.5.
- Junior Camp is open to all current and incoming G1-G6 students.
As always, the camp will consist of French in the morning (8:00am to 12:00pm), followed by afternoon activities in English (or nap and activities for preschoolers)
Native French Speakers
All of our French instructors are native speakers and have extensive backgrounds in teaching and working with children at multiple age levels.
We introduce and reinforce French acquisition through specialized French instruction periods during two periods in the morning. These activities will include basic language skills like learning greetings, colors, animal names, food names, simple social interactions, songs, reading, and arts and crafts. All learning revolves around the weekly themes. Our program also focuses on social-emotional learning and helps mini campers gain social skills through everyday interactions. Daily schedule mirrors that of daily school schedule.
Designed to reinforce or introduce the fundamentals of the French language, the classes take place daily for two periods of 75 minutes each and are taught by native and experienced French instructors. COVID permitting, we are looking to bring camp counselors from France as we’ve done in years past. The curriculum promotes the continued development of speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. The classes are designed for both beginner and intermediate French speakers. We will separate students according to age and french proficiency into pods of up to 12. Afternoons are filled with fun extracurricular activities like sports, art and crafts, games, and science.

EB has partnered with Acadomia, the largest tutoring agency in France, with over 100,000 families and 20,000 tutors. They were founded in 1997 with a primary focus on at-home tutoring. In recent years we have expanded our expertise to answer the needs for small groups and for online sessions. They opened our offices in the US 4 years ago with tutoring in French and in English of all academic subjects. All their French tutors are Native French speakers, certified teachers or with an equivalent degree. The French Summer Camp 2021 is developed to entertain and stimulate children wherever they will be this summer. Sessions are organized via Zoom (or similar platform).
- Each Group has a maximum of 6 students
- The camp lasts 4 hours per day (2 hours in the morning starting at 9:30am or 10am and 2 hours after a one-hour break (or 90 min))
If you have any questions about either offering, please contact Chauncey Burnett, Enrichment Coordinator at (510) 813-0161 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
