EXTENDED DAY

Our Extended Day program operates from 3:30–6:00 p.m., and provides supervision for children during recesses and between 7:30–8:15 a.m. In the afternoons, a healthy snack is  served and a variety of activities are organized: outdoor play, board games, and arts and crafts. For children in PK and MK, Extended Day care is held in the Maternelle building and yard, and offers unstructured play as well as stories, games, and creative activities. Extended Day fees for 2007-2008 have been set at $8.50/hour. Drop-in care is available.

Three other popular programs are operated by our Extended Day staff: étude, after-school classes, and vacation camps.

Etude offers students a quiet setting to work on homework. French-speaking faculty members supervise groups of students and are available to answer questions. (They do not conduct individual tutoring.)

After-school class offerings vary by semester and include ceramics, chess, band, chorus, guitar, karate, and French for adults.  A full list of classes and fees is published every September and January.

Vacation camps operate during most school vacations. In addition to a full day of crafts, games, and playtime, these camps always include a field trip to a point of local interest. Recent trips have included a pumpkin patch, the Marine Mammal Center, and the California Academy of Sciences. We do offer camps during summer break.
