Financial Aid: How to Apply ?
New families

Thank you for your interest in Ecole Bilingue de Berkeley.

Application for admissions and for financial aid should happen at about the same time.  In other words, please do not wait for your Admission letter to apply for financial aid or vice versa.

There are two ways to apply for EB’s financial aid:

You can request a financial aid package (usually available mid-December) from the reception desk or from Noelle at (510) 549-3895 extension 301 or e-mail at nsingharath@eb.org(please include your full name and mailing address).

You can apply online at https://sss.ets.org/ (usually opens mid-November)

The Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS) should be sent by January 15, 2008 to SSS (School and Student Service for Financial Aid) using the envelope provided in the PFS or filed online by the same date. 

By respecting this date, you will allow EB to inform you of the Financial Aid Committee’s decision at the same time or before the School’s decision on admission, thus allowing you to make an informed decision. We recommend that you complete this application on line at SSS Online, since doing so expedites the process.

The date of January 15, 2008 is not a deadline for prospective families.  You may apply after that date, in which case we will still make every effort to inform you of the Financial Aid Committee’s decision at the same time or before the School’s decision on admission, but we cannot guarantee that we will be able to.

In addition, it is worth mentioning that the later an application is sent the greater the risk that the financial aid budget will have been exhausted.

In addition to the PFS, you are required to provide to EB (not SSS) your income tax information for 2007. To do so, please complete a form 4506-T “Request for Transcript of tax return”, choose 6-a (return Transcript) and send it to EB six weeks after you file your tax return.  Click here for a form 4506-T.

If you do not have to file a tax return, please complete the enclosed form 4506-T and check box 7 (verification of non-filing).
